Scoil Íde are County Champions in Olympic Handball!

Heartiest congratulations to the Scoil Íde Olympic Handball team who have been crowned as Galway County champions! This is a huge achievement for our girls who only took up the sport last year. Their dedication and talent was duly rewarded with victories in ALL matches on the path to the final! They played in a manner that was commended by both spectators, opponents and referees. They showed immense skill in a hard fought victory against Belclare N.S. in the final, winning narrowly in a penalty shoot out. You have done Scoil Íde very proud. Well done to our superstars – Hannah, Ailsa, Marianne, Aisling, Judith, Kelly, Olwyn and Lucy. A special mention must be given to our brave and talented goalkeeper Shauna who saved the day on many occasions and to our team captain Sarah for her excellent leadership and effort throughout the competition. Thanks also to all of the girls in sixth class for their support in helping to train with the girls all year. Well done all!
